Where are you from ?
Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri but currently residing in Watertown, NY with my wife and two daughters.
How long have you been training ?
I have been training in mixed martial arts since 8/2008 so in August it will be 8 years that I have been training.
How did you break in to MMA ?
I had been a fan of mma since the 90’s, actually UFC 1 was the first mma fight I’ve ever seen. I was with a childhood friend and one day we were headed to video store (Blockbuster) to grab some action movies when I saw this VHS tape that was calling out to me. I grabbed it and was hooked. I had just started working at The Boxing Gym Florissant in August of 2008 and decided to start boxing. I had a little experience already with boxing due to the fact that my father was a boxer so I decided to learn not just how to box, but to take as many of the martial arts forms that I could. Crash course! There were local fights coming up and my job was hosting the weigh ins. The promoter (Jim Jenkins) had just lost a guy and looked over at me. He then proceeded to ask what’s my walk around and I replied, 172lbs. He asked “You interested in fighting?” and I replied, “YES SIR!” I got on the scale and it read 169.8lbs and that was the beginning.
Tell us about your nickname and how you got it ?
We are all sons and daughters of Christ, so I wanted the world to know who my Father is and what he stands for.
What was the defining moment when you decided being a fighter was what you wanted to do ?
My defining moment was in my first mma fight. I got slammed left and right repeatedly. He won by TKO Strikes. We were standing there waiting for them to announce it and I remember feeling the worst I ever felt physically, but mentally I felt stimulated and alive and that’s when I knew I had to do this.
When you decided to pursue a career in mma where your family and friends supportive of the decision ?
Some had reservations. Most of my friends figured I would have become a fighter anyway specifically my wife and my mother weren’t for it. My wife didn’t want to see her husband hurt, nor did my mother want to see her son fighting in a cage. They eventually came around because they knew how much I love it and that God gave me this platform to bring people into the flock. Now God, my wife and family are my biggest support system and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
What is your current record ?
I went 9-18 as an amateur in MMA, 2-0 in amateur Muay Thai, and currently 0-4 professionally looking to rebound and turn this around.
what is your favorite submission ?
My favorite submissions are as follows; The Peruvian necktie, The Banana Split, and The G.I. Joe Choke.
What are your favorite strikes ?
My favorite strikes are; Jumping Knee, Elbows, The Bolo Punch, The Teep Kick, The Oblique Kick, and the Meia-lua de Compasso which is the signature Capoeira kick.
Who is the biggest inspiration to you in your career ?
God is my biggest inspiration and right after that comes my wife and two daughters who make me want to grab the moon for them, my mother, and my brothers Johnathan and Thomas. Champions In Christ Baby!!!
What team do you train with ?
Champions In Christ Fight Team and Page Fitness.
Are you more of a standup fighter who likes to strike or do you prefer taking the fight to the ground ?
I like to stand, but more often than not my opponents want to take me down due to my height and reach advantage.
What does being a fighter mean to you ?
Being a fighter means nothing, being humble martial artist means a lot, but most of all, being the best ambassador for Christ is what matters to me.
What weight do you fight at ?
13.I’ve fought at 155lbs, a catch-weight of 165lbs, 170lbs, and I would love to fight at middleweight for a fight or two.
What separates you from other fighters ?
I have the best corner man in Jesus!
If you were given the opportunity to have one dream fight who would it be against and why?
I would love to fight Anderson Silva, GSP, Michael Page or Jon Jones. All of them win or lose, would make me a substantially better fighter..

My last fight on February 22nd against Jarrid Heon on the Premier Fighting Championship promotion. Was the first time I got hit with elbows…REPEADILY…LOL
What is your mindset going in to a fight ?
My state of mind is pretty clear because I have one objective, that’s to let the world know who my father is by showing the skills that he blessed me with in and outside of the cage.
Who are you fighting next ?
I am fighting Vinicius De Jesus.
What holes or weaknesses do you see in his game that you can exploit ?
The main weakness he has is that he wants to win this fight on his own, but I know I can’t win this without God’s help!
What Promotion are you fighting for ?
I am fighting for Premier FC on July 30th in Springfield Ma at the Mass Mutual Center.

What advice can you give to young up and coming fighters ?
The advice that I give to them is to ask God if it is in his will and plays a part in his purpose, then to put him first and everything else will fall into place. The victory already belongs to us.
What do you think you would be doing if you hadn’t become a fighter ?
God doesn’t make mistakes so I know this is the platform he gave me and there is nothing else that I should be doing. People may not understand what I mean, but that’s ok because this is my journey and my walk with God and all shall be revealed in the end.
What gets you hyped up for a fight ?
25.What gets me hyped is that I can show the world how good God is by displaying the gifts he blessed me with, but to also conduct myself in his manner when in and outside of the cage.
Where do you see the mma as a sport in 5-10 years ?
The sport is ever-evolving at a fast rate in which I hope we will be able to keep up with. There are of course things that need to be greatly improved about the sport but that’s with everything for we are all works in progress.
