Where are you from ?
I’m from Traverse City Michigan.
How long have you been training ?
I’ve been training for MMA for about a year and a half now.
How did you get in to MMA ?
I was asked to coach the MMA guys by Christos Piliafas watched a couple of my guys fight and just wanted to try it.
Can you ell us about your nickname and how you got it ?
My nick name is a funny story I was at practice one day and my teammate Alex came up to me and said “u should go with the name Billy 50 shades of Gray” he said the girls will love it, I told him to shut up not going to happen. A week later I was at the store and got a call from Christos and he said your fight name is Billy 50 shades of gray I asked him if he talked to Alex he said no why I told him what happened and it’s stuck ever since then.
What was the defining monent for you when you knew being a fighter was what you wanted to do ?
I would say my second or third fight.
When you decided to pursue MMA as a carerr where your family and friends supportive ?
My friends support me. my family is not a big fan of the MMA thing and I don’t blame them.
What is your current record ?
I am currently 7-4.
What is your favorite strike or submission ?
I’m more of a ground and pound type of guy take it to the ground and beat the hell out of them.
Who is your biggest inspiration ?
Inspiration to me would be Dan gable ,Cale Sanderson , Brett Metcalf , GSP, Matt Hughes and Daron Cruickshank.
What team do you train with ?
I train with Great Lakes MMA.
Where do you like to take the fight are you more of a standup fighter or do you prefer going to the ground ?
To the ground for sure.
What does being a fighter mean to you ?
Being a fighter to me means how you can show off your skills but remain humble outside the cage I really like when I talk to people and they find out I’m a fighter and they say they would never expect that from me.
What weight do you fight at ?
I fight at 155 or 170.
What separates you from other fighters ?
What separates me from other fighters is the way I think I go into a fight thinking one thing them or me who is going to the ER that’s it.
If you could have one dream fight who would it be against and why ?
I hate to say it but Daron cruickshank just cause we look a like I think it would confuse the judges and everyone else lol.
Who has been your toughest opponent to date ?
Ken Bowmen I went three rounds with him the only guy to do that.
What is your mindset going into a fight ?
Them or me.
Who are you fighting next ?
I’m fighting Rick McCall September 17th.
What holes in his game plan will you look to exploit ?
Keep the gap close and just out work him.
What promotion are you fighting for ?
I fight for Aggressive Fight League.

What do you want people to remember you for at the end of your career ?
I’m not worried about being remembered I just hope who ever is at my fight or fights can enjoy them.

What has been your biggest accomplishment so far in MMA ?
Just having fun that a good enough accomplishment.
Who has been the biggest influence on you and your career ?
It’s hard to say but my teammates for sure.
Who do you think has had the biggest impact on the sport and why ?
MMA not anyone really but wrestling Bernard Priante and Miles Gordon they have taught me so much about wrestling and how to be a role model.
How would you describe your fighting style ?
Wrestler hands down.
What motivates you ?
I don’t like to lose.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time ?
Boating hanging with friends BBQ.
What advice can you give to young fighters ?
Just be smart about what you do and know what you’re getting into.
What do you think you would be doing if you had not become a fighter ?
I would be coaching.
What gets you prepared to step in the cage do you have any pre fight rituals ?
I just think about all the stuff that’s been stressing me out and unleash it.

It’s great right now just keep the big match ups.
